This is where independence for Scotland began in 1314.
Divided loyalties here, being a Yorkshire and English man but, my ancestor's, the MacIntosh Clan, supported and fought with Robert the Bruce and we won.
Good spot to learn more about the history or "Why you shouldn't oversleep if the Scots are coming!".
Personally we skipped the audio/visual experience and just walked up to the monument. Great setup!
Brilliant! Both the outdoor signage and museum are excellent. Even for someone like me who didn’t know the first thing about the battle. Worth a visit, only takes 30 mins or so, parking is free.
